Slade in Sundsvall at Hotel Södra Berget 3.11.2012
SLADE played on Viking lines Cinderella in the night from 18th to 19th September 2008 and so we decided to make a cruisertour from Helsinki to Stockholm with Viking lines cruiser Mariella and changed than to Cinderella in Stockholm on the next day. On 19th Sept. we flew back to Helsinki from Stockholm.
It was a very short time, but impressed and beautiful. Stockholm is such a romantical town, special the old part of the city, so I falled in love with Stockholm !
With Slade we are already long time in love and the gig on Cinderella was amazing :-)

SLADE at the Globe Annex in
Stockholm, Sweden
As requested some comments from the gig 15.04.2006 -
Saturday at the Globe Annex in Stockholm, Sweden .
It was a night arranged by Hans Edler and called "Kings of Glam Rock" with T-rextasy, Tears and Sweet also on the bill.
T-rexatasy was good - second time I have seen them and the guy could be Marc Bolans young brother! Both in looks and vocals. Song to remember: "Get it On"...
Tears - sorry guys I know you are Swedish but this was not good...
Song to remember: none Sweet got everyone going real good! Andy Scott looks a little uncommitted but lightens up as the show progressed. Huge string of hits in a short set
(maybe 50 minutes) but all the classics: Teenage rampage, Papa Joe, Ballroom blitz, Fox on the run, Wig wam bam and so on. Great preformance and it really got people going!
Next up - SLADE! My forth time I have seen them but first with Mal on vocals. I am dually impressed! I was concerned when i wrote that somebody said "that he sounded like Noddy"...nobody can ever sound like Noddy and copies will just sound silly.
Well, Mal doesn't sound like Noddy but he has the right type of voice to handle songs like "Get down and get with it" and "comon feel the noise". I beleive that Steve was a better singer per say but Mal fits the roll better - well done!
Again - a short set of about one hour but real rock´n´Roll and the guys seemed to enjoy themselfs. Dave was in a great mood and move around the stage more then I have ever seen! Don is a true Rock´N´Roll HERO and broke at least 5 sticks during the set. He looks like he is in trans when he plays!
Setlist:
We'll Bring The House Down / Take Me Bak 'Ome
Far, Far Away
Coz I Luv You (John on violin, Mal on bass)
Run Runaway (John on violin, Mal on bass)
My Oh My
Look Wot You Dun
Gudbuy T'Jane
Mama Weer All Crazee Now
Get Down With It
encores
Cum On Feel The Noize
merry Christmas Everybody
Great show and highlight is Dave and Mal "running away" across stage during Run, run away...silly but very funny!
Saw something about them playing on a boat in Sweden 2nd of September...well if that's true I will be there as always.
Cheers and keep on Rockin!
