On 5th November 1973, 39 years ago, 4 months after Don's car accident, Slade played their second Finland's concert in Messuhalli in Helsinki. The date was originally reserved for a concert in Norway (Bergen ?), but due to huge demand from the Finnish fans and music press a date in Finland was arranged instead of the second concert in Norway.

Slade start their mini Sweden tour on Thursday 1st of November 2012 in Luleå, Kulturens Hus. On Friday 2.11. they play at Hotell Lappland in Lycksele and on Saturday 3.11. at Hotell Södra Berget in Sundsvall. We will be in Sundsvall and will give you a report from the concert on Sunday evening, when we will be back in Helsinki.
Slade played in Luleåkalaset in 2005. New Slade's (Slade II) first ever gig was in Umeå in Sweden 20 years ago in December 1992, and it was cold then, close to -20 degrees.

Not so much to do with Slade (except Viking Line ship Mariella), but I had today such a lovely lunch-hour in the sunny autumn City of Helsinki that I decided to show you some pics from the Centrum of Helsinki.
I also met for the first time for some 35 years my old sports friend from my home region, who was parking his sauna for a short break by the Market Square ! I had a very nice, short chat with Jorma, who is very good singer, too ("There's nothing like a good singer, and Jim is nothing like a good singer!", Nod).
You can have a great "sightseeing tour" in his sauna-bus, if you happen to visit Helsinki. And you can plan the route yourself. And Jorma's company Härkätien Elämysporras has got a lot other experience services:
to raise money for Marie Curie’s Big Build Appeal to create a new hospice for the West Midlands.
Fifty-two teams from local businesses have now entered the event, taking place at the International Convention Centre on November 1. There are still a small number of tables available, starting at £1,200 upwards.
The evening begins with a champagne reception, followed by a three-course dinner and eight rounds of the quiz. Marie Curie needs to raise another £3.4 million to build and equip its new hospice for the West Midlands. 30 years ago in 1982 Slade played their third and last time in Finland at Kuusrock festival in Oulu. On Saturday 21.7.2012 Dave and Don with the new Slade return in the North-Finland getting on stage at 21:00 at the Twin City Festival in Tornio, on the border of Finland and Sweden.
Slade esiintyy viikonloppuna Torniossa Twin City -festivaalilla.
Pian tulee kuluneeksi päivälleen 30 vuotta siitä, kun brittiläinen rocklegenda Slade esiintyi viimeksi pohjoisessa, silloin Oulun Kuusrockissa. Ensi lauantaina yhtye rantautuu Tornioon, joten on aika, niin entisten nuorten verestää muistoja ja nykyistenkin suunnistaa Twin City-festivaaleille.

Schrecken für die Gruppe Middle of the Road: Sängerin Sally Carr hat einen Schlaganfall erlitten, die Band hat für die nächsten Wochen alle Auftritte abgesagt. Damit entfällt auch der Auftritt bei der 100-Jahre-Party der OVAG am Samstag, 2. Juni, ab 17 Uhr im großen Festzelt auf der Seewiese.

"Bisingen. "Hohenzollern rockt" lautet das Motto am 5. Mai in der Bisinger Hohenzollernhalle, wenn die Glam-Rock-Legenden Slade und Sweet auftreten. Da werden so manche Erinnerungen wach.

Zur bereits etablierten und jährlich stattfindenden Dynamite Night mit Heavy Metal und Hard Rock Bands, gi...bt es an diesem Termin ein Kontrastprogramm, und musikalisches Highlight, welches es in sich hat.
Kaum zu glauben, aber wahr: die britischen Glam-Rock-Legenden SWEET & SLADE kommen gleich im Doppelpack nach Crailsheim / Ingersheim. Sie werden beweisen, dass die Aussage „Never too old to rock!“ keine leere Floskel ist. Teilweise noch in Originalbesetzung werden Sie Hits wie BALLROOM BLITZ, LITTLE WILLIE, WIG WAM BAM, LOVE IS LIKE OXYGEN , MAMA WE ALL CRAZY NOW, FAR FAR AWAY, CUM ON FEEL THE NOIZE und viele weitere Hits ihrer legendären Zeit live auf der Bühne präsentieren.
