29.07.2006:

SLADE at the Revival of the

Roots Rock-Festivals 2006 in Nidrum

So ist also jede Menge Classic Rock angesagt.

Here's Philippe's comments about the Nidrum gig in Ian's forum

"In fact, we were at my house and Don said he'd be back in a minute and he went to his car (he was travelling with it for this gig and he had just received the award in London).

So he came back with the gold disc and dvd and he asked me to take a nice picture of him with that award
and to put it on the website

and/or on the forum, as that would be his way to thank the fans that made it happen. He thought it would make you feel glad. And he was right.

Regarding the countries, sorry but, now that you're asking, I can't remember if it's for the UK or for more countries. I'll ask him when I can.

I was with him again today and I told him that you, the fans, had already posted here that you were really glad about the good news and that made him even happier, as I think that the award was a bit of a surprise for him, and he did ask me to thank you again. Done, Don.

The gig in Nidrum yesterday was really great, Ilpo! Don and Dave were absolutely great, of course, but I'll add that John was excellent too, not just on the bass but on the violin too (Coz I Luv You, Run Run Away). Not always easy for him and it depends a lot on the sound quality, as he plays by ear, did he tell me.

AND Mal was so great! So great! His voice is now fabulous for Slade! It really is! And there is such an excellent atmosphere in the band and they were all so happy to play, and most friendly with the fans (as usual should I say).

The audience had such a great night!

Go see them and Keep On Rockin'!!!!

THANKS to Philippe !!!!      www.amazingslade.net
